The Challenge
A concern was raised about the quality of air in an air conditioned building on the University of Sussex campus. RWDI was commissioned to investigate the indoor air quality in this building to determine whether there were any parameters that could be a potential cause for concern.
Our Approach
RWDI’s team air quality experts:
- Conducted an indoor air quality survey involving attended and unattended measurements of indoor air quality parameters such as temperature, CO₂, relative humidity, CO, and VOCs to uncover potential concerns and develop mitigation measures if so.
- Developed recommendations for further indoor air quality testing of combustion products during start-up testing of a back-up generator.
The Outcome
The indoor air quality survey verified the quality of air in the offices met standards – save for one in which the concentrations of CO₂ were about the CIBSE guidelines for occupant comfort due to non-functional ventilation, which has since been rectified.
