Glare and glint analysis to ensure safe airport operations
Glare and glint analysis to ensure safe airport operations
Situated near the Great Mosque at Mecca, KAIA is the busiest airport in Saudi Arabia – designed to manage the influx of pilgrims during the annual Hajj. It can accommodate more aircraft than any other airport.
Operators retained us to analyze potential glare from the airport’s facades and to determine the frequency and duration of any reflections that could affect the ability of pilots, air-traffic controllers, and ground crews to safely and effectively do their jobs.
Based on our analysis, we were able to provide the airport’s design team with a detailed understanding of potential impacts – and custom, data-driven mitigation options.
