With deep knowledge of complex regulations, we help you stay compliant, avoid conflict, and keep communities on your side. We identify issues early and solve them fast so your facility performs exactly as it should — flawlessly.

How our noise and vibration services can benefit your project

Smart noise solutions for community well-being with quieter, safer surroundings

Tackling noise and vibration issues early helps you avoid costly retrofits, legal headaches, and community pushback.

We help you design for comfort, safety, and long-term value with smart, science-backed solutions that keep your project on track and in harmony with its surroundings.

Stay compliant with confidence

We know the codes, inside and out. Whether it’s local requirements or complex cross-border regulations, we model, measure, and interpret sound and vibration data to help you meet or exceed every requirement. Protect your people, your continued operations, and your reputation.

Lower costs and improve operational efficiency

Don’t wait for problems to surface. Our early-stage assessments flag noise and vibration risks before they become problems. From design guidance to wind tunnel testing, we help you avoid expensive rework and keep your project on time and within budget.

Make spaces safer, calmer, and more enjoyable

Turn down the noise and dial up safety and productivity. We manage sound and structural vibration using advanced modeling and real-time monitoring. The result? More productive workplaces, safer environments, and better experiences for everyone

Build stronger community relationships

Clear communication, innovative mitigation, and early engagement make all the difference. We help you build trust with neighbors and stakeholders, win approvals faster, and earn the operational flexibility your project needs to succeed. Stay within noise limits and out of the headlines.

How we help

From prediction to mitigation, we model, measure, and decode environmental sound with precision. Our expertise unlocks innovative, efficient solutions—even when the path forward isn’t obvious. If there’s a way to solve it, we’ll find it. If not, we’ll invent one

Wind-induced noise (aeroacoustics

When building or structural elements whistle, hum, or drone in the wind, it’s more than a nuisance. It can be heard for miles, trigger complaints, and be expensive to fix if left unaddressed. The good news is that you can prevent it from day one.

We specialize in early detection and mitigation of wind-induced (aeroacoustic) noise. Our team uses desktop design reviews, wind tunnel testing, and real-world diagnostics to catch problems early and guide your design towards silent success.

With deep expertise in acoustics, wind, climate, fluid/structure interactions, and wind modeling, we deliver smart, targeted solutions that help you avoid delays, protect your reputation, and save time and money.

Structural vibration

Prolonged or intense noise from sources like aircraft and trains can trigger structural vibrations that lead to excessive noise, equipment and operational disruptions, and even damage — from cracked drywall to serious structural issues, especially in sensitive or historic buildings.

We specialize in identifying and mitigating structural vibration caused by sound. Through precision monitoring, vibration profiling, and targeted design solutions, we help protect your structure, equipment, and reputation. From noise-impact assessments to vibration-control plans, our experts deliver real-time monitoring, detailed vibration control plans, and targeted design strategies. Our data and strategies ensure you meet regulations, avoid costly disruptions, and keep your project running smoothly.

FAQs about our noise and vibration services

Still have questions? Contact us.

We work with noise and vibration sources across various industries including mining, energy, construction, transportation, medical, and commercial sectors. Common sources include building services equipment, industrial operations, construction activities, transportation systems, and environmental elements like wind.

Noise sources can vary extensively, and often noise can be complicated to identify. Sources could range from alert devices (horns/back-up alarms), amusement parks, blasting, building services equipment, concert venues, construction and tunneling activity, cruise ship horns, dog kennels, industrial operations, manufacturing, resource extraction, power generation, pollution control devices, ventilation fans, transportation (airports, highways, trains, ports), motocross tracks, occupational noise, power tools, shooting ranges or more!

Yes, we offer real-time measurement and monitoring systems to predict noise impacts and recommend mitigation methods. This allows us to provide continuous feedback and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

RWDI evaluates the vibration source, transmission path, and receiver (human or machine). Solutions may include structural changes, architectural changes, operational changes, or damping solutions. We integrate vibration analysis with acoustics, noise, foundation design, and seismic or wind-induced motion, using accurate computer models to provide reliable estimates of a structure’s ability to absorb vibration

We typically help manage environmental noise impacts across a variety of industries. This could mean mitigating short-term emissions from construction, or helping a community design a permanent solution for highway, rail, or industrial noise.

Typical scenarios include setting sound-level limits for new developments, assessing the environmental impact of large infrastructure projects, protecting wildlife or traditional use lands, managing land use changes, community-focused design, noise dispute mitigation.
