Sunnybrook’s new rooftop helipad provides faster access to Canada’s largest trauma centre.

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre’s rooftop helipad provides faster access to life-saving care at Canada’s largest trauma centre. To ensure safe helicopter operations, RWDI conducted a helipad turbulence assessment, utilizing our wind tunnels to assess localized wind and turbulence conditions around the new helipad. The study confirmed that the helipad meets performance requirements for safe landings and take-offs 99% of the time, supporting reliable emergency access since its opening in early 2020.
