Complex wind analysis for Baltic-Europe rail connection
Riga Central Station’s redevelopment is a cornerstone of Rail Baltica, the largest infrastructure project in the Baltic region in over a century, linking Latvia to the broader European rail network. The redesign includes a striking long-span roof supported by tall arches, new bridges, and significant track upgrades. Located near the Daugava River, the station’s scale and shape posed complex wind-related challenges for both structural design and pedestrian comfort. RWDI supported the project with advanced wind and microclimate analysis, helping to inform design decisions and ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable transport hub for travelers.
