Investigating solutions for an intrusive curving noise
Our client required an investigation into the options to mitigate a ‘curving noise’ arising from London Overground trainsets passing through a tight radius railway curve in the London Borough of Hackney. The curving noise was highly tonal and intrusive in character. We conducted a detailed study and investigated potential mitigation options. This investigatory work subsequently focused on the development of a noise model and the prediction of the potential levels of sound reduction at the floors of the surrounding sensitive receptors that might be afforded by the installation of different configurations of lineside noise barriers.
