Ground-Mount Single-Axis Solar Trackers
Innovative wind-load analysis method for solar trackers
Innovative wind-load analysis method for solar trackers
As part of a ground-mount solar development, our client was designing single-axis solar trackers, structures that tilt to follow the sun and maximize energy output. Because this movement increases vulnerability to wind effects, traditional design codes fell short. RWDI developed a hybrid wind-load analysis method combining wind tunnel testing and numerical modeling, enabling the team to refine tracker designs efficiently. This approach supported the creation of a reliable, cost-effective tracker system tailored for performance and stability during wind events.
