An air quality assessment for Greenwich mixed-use development

An air quality assessment for Greenwich mixed-use development

For a proposed multi-storey mixed-use development in Greenwich, our client required an air quality assessment to demonstrate that cumulative dust from demolition, construction, and a nearby concrete mixing plant would not adversely impact health or introduce new residents into an area of poor air quality. Our team conducted six months of baseline monitoring across winter and summer to establish dust levels and meet planning conditions set by Greenwich Council. The study showed a medium risk of dust during construction, but also highlighted how design measures such as limited parking, expanded cycle storage, and the use of air source heat pumps would help mitigate impacts on local air quality.
