Diverse engineering services for an energy-efficient skyscraper

In addition to being exceptionally energy efficient (it harvests 65% of its energy from renewable sources), the 25-story Gioia 22 office tower strove to be a positive addition to Porta Nuova, Milan by ensuring nearby outdoor spaces were safe and welcoming. In addition to advancing the tower’s sustainability and aesthetic aims, our work delivered substantial cost savings by optimizing aerodynamic form and orientation. We were also able to guide significant improvements in efficiency for the structural design of the building’s crown. With LEED Platinum and Cradle to Cradle certifications, Gioia 22 has become a global benchmark for energy efficient design.
