Collaboration on the design of a smoke management strategy for two automated people mover train stations

RWDI provided recommendations on both architectural and mechanical design elements, refining them through advanced CFD modeling. Presentations to the fire marshal and airport authority supported approval of the final designs. RWDI also evaluated a novel fine-mist water suppression system within the tunnel enclosures, using detailed CFD simulations to assess its performance. The analysis demonstrated the system’s effectiveness in reducing temperatures even under fan-induced draft conditions.
