Wind engineering studies for a tall tower with open terraces and a unique geometry

Divan Residence is a 50-storey, 180m residential tower featuring a podium with amenity spaces, balconies on every level, and expansive terraces on the upper floors. Its exposed height, angular design, and proximity to water created complex wind conditions that required careful study. RWDI conducted wind tunnel testing and local climate analysis to evaluate structural wind loads, occupant comfort on terraces, and pedestrian safety at street level. The insights supported an efficient, resilient design and helped reduce the project’s environmental impact through optimized material use.
