A custom facade solution for a high-end residential tower with unusual balconies

RWDI provided building enclosure consulting for Cosmopolitan on the Park, Portland’s tallest residential tower and a striking landmark in the Pearl District. The tower’s distinctive inset decks created complex challenges for maintaining continuity in the enclosure’s control layers across its custom curtainwall system. Our specialists worked closely with the architect, contractor, and fabricator to refine intricate details, validate solutions through full-scale mock-ups, and support every phase of the enclosure design, from schematic development to construction administration. Completed in 2016, the building’s high-performance façade delivers both durability and visual impact, with ongoing monitoring supported by RWDI’s hygrothermal expertise.
