Testing multiple scale models yields appropriate design loading for unique structure

Rising in the heart of Singapore’s central business district, CapitaGreen is a 40-story commercial tower that combines striking architectural form with sustainable innovation. Designed by Toyo Ito & Associates, the building features a rooftop wind scoop and a distinctive double-skin façade planted with vegetation. RWDI conducted wind tunnel testing at multiple scales to determine wind loads, evaluate pedestrian comfort, and assess the performance of the innovative façade and rooftop petals against potential wind-induced vibration. Our rigorous analysis ensured both structural stability and comfort, helping realize one of Asia’s most celebrated green skyscrapers.
