Florida-based extreme weather forensic study
Applying a model that not only interpolates, but actually solves equations of motion for the atmosphere

After a Florida condominium was damaged by extreme weather, a legal dispute arose between the property owners and their insurers. RWDI was engaged to perform a forensic weather reconstruction to support the case. Using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model, we generated detailed insights into the timing and nature of the weather event as it affected the condominium. The model was used to numerically simulate the event and generate atmospheric data to provide an accurate account of local conditions, including peak wind speeds and the duration those speeds exceeded critical thresholds.
