Natural ventilation keeps students comfortable in K-12 school
Lynnwood High School, located just north of Seattle, is a 220,000 sq. ft. award-winning facility designed around principles of sustainability, community, and student learning. The school incorporates a fully automated natural ventilation system that eliminates the need for fans in classrooms and labs. RWDI supported this innovation through energy modeling, CFD, and wind tunnel testing, refining chimney designs to harness prevailing winds. The result is a naturally ventilated, energy-efficient building recognized with Energy Star certification and national design awards.
