An environmental noise and vibration assessment for a significant infrastructure upgrade

An infrastructure upgrade for the Doha Industrial Area included redesigning the road network to manage traffic and installing water drainage facilities to provide a flood defense mechanism for the area. Our client needed to undertake an environmental noise and vibration impact assessment related to the work. We acquired baseline noise and vibration data, developed a road traffic noise model to predict and assess potential future noise impacts, identified control measures to mitigate any significant adverse impacts, and leveraged an empirical vibration propagation model developed from the acquisition of vibration data monitored across the area to calculate and assess groundborne vibration impacts.
