LUMA Foundation – The Tower

Wind load analysis for a complex double-skin façade

Wind load analysis for a complex double-skin façade

Designed by Frank Gehry and located in Arles, France, The Tower is the striking centerpiece of the LUMA Foundation’s creative campus. Clad in over 11,000 shimmering titanium panels, the building houses exhibition spaces, artist studios, research labs, and public gathering areas, all within a dramatic form that challenges architectural norms. Its complex geometry, double-skin façade, and glass podium presented significant engineering challenges. RWDI provided advanced wind and environmental studies to support the design’s performance and integrity, helping the project team reduce material use and optimize the building’s resilience without compromising its bold artistic vision.
