Balancing bold design with guest comfort and safety
Art’otel is a 26-storey cylindrical tower in London designed by Squire & Partners, featuring 343 guest rooms, a spa, a ground floor restaurant and bar, and a public arts center with gallery and studio space. A signature element of the design is the external display of art, including pieces by Banksy, and original works throughout the hotel’s interiors. Standing significantly taller than its surrounding buildings and adorned with decorative twisted fins on each floor, the building required thoughtful consideration to ensure these striking features did not compromise safety, comfort, or acoustic quality. The project team undertook detailed assessments to confirm the hotel’s design would create a comfortable environment for both patrons and pedestrians while aligning with the Art’otel brand’s upscale and artistic experience.
