How London’s New Air Quality Guidance Impacts Developers
The Greater London Authority has published the final versions of the Air Quality Positive and Air Quality Neutral Assessment guidance.
Air quality is critical for human health and regulatory compliance. Whether your goal is social responsibility, emergency response, regulatory compliance, land use compatibility, we can help at all scales.
Our testing and analysis delivers the results and recommendations you need to take actionable steps for improvement and clearly communicate with regulators and stakeholders.
We support decision making with expertly gathered source/monitoring data, comprehensive modeling, and user-friendly client-site software.
Find creative, win-win solutions to regulatory challenges, especially in the face of competing priorities.
Measure and monitor air quality with our customizable, on-site air quality management system. Empower your team with timely data for informed decisions.
Our deep experience and data brings defendable and logical arguments to support litigation and public consultation.
Address prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery in relation to uncontrolled, unplanned, and accidental releases.
We work closely with industrial facilities, mines, and other operations to measure, monitor, and mitigate their air quality.
At the local level, air quality issues can range from mild public nuisance to serious health concerns. We offer services to suit our client’s needs, whether for regulatory approval, a litigation or land use dispute, to meet conditions of an approval, or to actively manage air quality impacts.
We first identify and quantify emission sources, then use dispersion modelling to evaluate impacts of air contaminants and odour in the surrounding communities, and whether they fall within an acceptable range.
We offer source testing, air monitoring and dispersion modelling.
Speak with a local air quality expertWe help government agencies and other stakeholders evaluate scenarios for reducing emissions and impacts of air pollutants. By evaluating proposed regulations and urban growth strategies, we can gauge their effect on regional air quality and pollution patterns.
Our approach considers the complex effects of regional weather patterns, topography and chemical interactions among air pollutants.
Make science-based decisions on air quality and urban growth and development, or develop cost–benefit analyses with accurate and timely results.
Speak with a regional air quality expertRWDI has developed and managed some of the largest ambient air quality monitoring networks in the world. Whether the network is regional or a single facility, we have the expertise and experience to make the program cost effective while maintaining the level of quality needed for the circumstance.
Our in-house, web-based interface provides secure, real-time access to your monitoring data, along with all the quick reporting links and customizing alerts for key individuals.
Speak with an air quality monitoring expertWe deliver accurate air quality testing for regulatory compliance, equipment performance and operation, process optimization, and engineering studies.
Whether you are demonstrating regulatory compliance or developing your own due diligence plans and environmental performance frameworks, our teams have the expertise and field experience to help.
We test accurately and efficiently at any scale and are driven by a commitment to deliver not only accurate data but meaningful results.
Speak with a source sampling expertDepending on its size and composition, dust can be a significant health and environmental hazard.
Most dust issues can be managed effectively by adhering to site-specific dust control strategies and management plans. We quantify dust emissions from operations and help develop site-specific, pragmatic solutions to reduce dust emissions.
Speak with a dust expertWhen a potentially harmful substance is released into the air, knowing how the emission will behave helps to mitigate and manage risks. We help by generating plume-path predictions in real time.
By combining multiple data sources and models to generate realistic predictions of how a plume will travel, our analysis is informed by on-site meteorology, air quality data, and site-specific weather forecasts as well as advanced dispersion models.
The result is exceptionally accurate plume-path predictions, presented in a format that supports timely, informed decisions, including during emergencies.

Yes, we offers a diverse suite of air quality solutions to help manage emissions management and optimize operations. We integrate advanced dispersion modeling techniques, emission scenarios, historical meteorological data sets, weather forecasts, and up-to-date air quality data to support the following concerns:
Computer simulations begin with information from source testing, or theoretical estimates of source emission rates in situations where source testing is impractical. These are combined with long-term meteorological data to predict air pollutant concentrations at various locations in the area around an emission source or sources.
These predictions are made for a wide range of weather conditions. The computer simulations are generally performed using software systems that have been developed by the US EPA and other government agencies. simulations are known by the term air dispersion modeling. We use a range of modeling software, including AERMOD, CALPUFF, SCIPUFF, CAL3QHCR, EDMS and ADMS. Some of these models are general in their application (e.g., AERMOD and CALPUFF), where others are intended for specific applications, such as modeling of emissions from motor vehicles on roadways (e.g., CAL3QHCR) or emissions from aircraft and other operations at airports (EDMS).
Our expertise spans many sectors, including mining and smelting, oil and gas, iron and steel, the aggregate industry, auto manufacturing, pulp and paper, cement manufacturing, laboratories and physical plants, and transportation infrastructure (highways, railways, airports, shipping) and more.
