Alex is a noise and vibration specialist with almost 20 years’ experience in the measurement and assessment of road traffic, railways, aircraft, construction worksites and industrial developments, including wind farms, power stations, petrochemical, water treatment and waste recovery sites. He has extensive experience in noise and vibration modelling, signal processing and data analysis, using software packages that include SoundPLAN, NoiseMap 5, FINDWAVE, IGITUR, COMSOL and MATLAB. Alex is accredited to undertake pre-completion sound insulation testing of residential developments and provides bespoke sound insulation design advice. His project experience includes: working overseas in Dubai installing a multi-unit noise monitoring system for Dubai International Airport (DXB); numerical modelling (BEM-FEM) of noise mitigation proposed for a section of HS2 located on an elevated structure; groundborne noise and vibration modelling of tunnel boring activities in Singapore using FINDWAVE; vibro-acoustic modelling of Crossrail’s proposed subsurface track-systems using MATLAB and IGITUR; and noise surveying, modelling and mitigation advice for a major oil refinery in Kuwait.
