Boosting the safety and resilience of the Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is being retrofitted for increased resilience to earthquakes – work that entails changes to the bridge’s decks. Operators engaged us to carry out testing and analysis to ensure that the bridge will remain aerodynamically stable after the planned upgrades for seismic performance are made.

These videos offer a glimpse of the process, following the bridge’s engineers as they visit our Guelph headquarters, where we built and tested a precisely crafted model of the structure’s iconic suspension span.
