RWDI Founder Peter Irwin Appointed to the Order of Canada
We’re proud to announce that Peter Irwin, a pioneer in the field of wind engineering and a co-founder of RWDI, will receive Canada’s highest civilian honor this year.

Governor General Julie Payette recently announced Peter’s appointment as a Member of the Order of Canada, citing his extraordinary contributions to wind engineering and in particular his development of the Irwin wind sensor – a tool used for pedestrian wind studies in laboratories around the world.
After decades of groundbreaking engineering work, Peter remains active at RWDI. He regularly provides technical advice on projects, and more broadly helps to drive the continued advancement of our team and capabilities. He is also frequently called upon to share his insights with prestigious international engineering bodies and committees.
Peter’s investiture will take place later in 2018, in a ceremony to be held at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.
