Abstract

This presentation will discuss the applications related to the role of aerodynamics and it’s impact on the wind-induced response of structures. The role of aerodynamics in mitigating high response of structures will be described with a number of case studies.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn how plan form and elevation form changes may affect wind-induced response;
  • Explore the physics behind cross-wind response reduction;
  • Case studies – Tall buildings; bridges
