Abstract

Wind assessments are a fundamental part of the UK planning process for tall developments.   This webinar will talk about why we consider wind, how to identify whether a building requires a wind assessment and how the assessment is undertaken including the typical timescales.    Both computational and physical modelling methods will be described in detail to help architects, planners and developers understand what is required to undertake a robust wind assessment to ensure that a development gets the required planning approvals. Examples will be included to illustrate how good building design can prevent issues with strong winds at an early stage in the project and the mitigation measures which might be proposed for a building at a later stage where strong or uncomfortable winds are identified.
